RIAX’s history began more than 50 years ago when Pete Rivera returned to Puerto Rico with a new passion for woodworking. In the 1960s, during the urbanization growth of middle class families, Pete Rivera established a woodwork shop called Pete’s Cabinet Shop. Through the first decade, Rivera’s work was known for his excellence. That was the beginning of a new series of requests, such as gypsum board and wall coverings. Consequently, Pete decides to expand the services of the shop in 1970, which then became Pete’s Decorations.
In 1983 Pete’s son joined the company. As a mechanical engineer, Axel Rivera brought new and innovative ideas to the shop. His projects introduced the company to a different phase in the business, becoming RIAX Interior General Contractors.
Finally, in 1992, after many years of hard and dedicated work, Pete Rivera retired and left the company in his son’s hands.
“We wanted to take the business to a level in which our potential clients could clearly understand the difference between a general contractor and a master interior Company”, explains Axel, current RIAX President.
RIAX has grown to become one of the most prestigious general interior contractor companies in Puerto Rico. Over the years, the hard work and commitment to excellence has won accolades, recognition and awards.
